The tutor says of himself:

I am an examiner for the OCR examination board, and I tutor in Science and Maths to GCSE, Biology and Chemistry to A Level. I am also able to offer English to Key Stage 3. I have been tutoring since graduating from Imperial College London with a degree in Biochemistry in 2002.
In this time, I have tutored over 180 students and helped people of wide-ranging ages and levels. In my tutorials for GCSE and A-Level we focus particularly on exam technique and practice, a crucial area so often overlooked in the classroom.
Where exams are not imminent and there is more time available, I assess the student’s strengths and weaknesses and first ensure that he or she possesses the basic skills needed for a solid foundation in the subject.
This gives the student the confidence to move swiftly to more advanced topics and rapidly improve academic achievement. I feel I can relate well to the examination concerns of children and young adults, and my extensive experience has helped me to be able to communicate ideas and concepts to a wide variety of people.

We would also like to thank Ed for his work and support given to our daughter over the past 2 years particularly through Covid and doing lessons online, he was excellent! Our daughter said; I’ve sadly had my last tutor season with Ed. Ed is a spectacular teacher and I have gained so much knowledge which has helped me throughout the duration of my GCSE years. The preparation during our lessons helped me gain confidence and understanding before my school classes. With his help I have surpassed my original predicted grades. Ed taught in a clear and calm manner. He never failed to put a smile on my face and made the sessions very enjoyable and made learning maths and science fun.

Felix is getting on really well with Ed as a tutor, thanks - I’m very happy with the progress Felix has made and Ed is so laid back and flexible about times, so it works so well!

Tilly said Edward was a good tutor and she felt her session was definitely useful. She found him a good, thorough tutor. I would recommend him to anyone else.

Ms F from Norwich

I was very happy with the tuition Edward gave to Jamie. Edward worked through some past papers with Jamie and then gave him tips and ideas of what he needed to do to get a good grade. Importantly Jamie really liked and respected Edward and was keen to go to the sessions. Thank you for putting us in touch with Edward.

Mrs K from Norwich

Jem greatly benefited from the tuition provided by Edward, for which I thank both Norfolk Tutors and him. Edward was able to accommodate the difficult schedule, and certainly helped Jem. He is clearly very able, and has an understanding of teaching as a separate discipline to the subject content he teaches. Thank you once again!

Mr S from Norwich

L has now had her last session with Ed. She has found the tutorials very helpful and by concentrating on past papers she is facing her final A Level exams with much more confidence.

Mr C from Norwich

Ed is brilliant at his job, he took me back to the basics of Maths - which really helped as I had a lot of gaps in my maths knowledge. Ed is also fantastic at taking the time to explain things and go over things if needed; he was very patient with me. Overall, I can’t recommend Ed highly enough because he is just amazing at his job.

Mrs R from Norwich

Thank you very much for arranging for Ed to see Sophie. He has been very helpful and she now feels much more confident about her science and maths.

Mrs P from Norwich

Ed has been a tremendous help during my revision for A Level Biology and Chemistry. Each session I was able to bring him last paper questions and he would go through them right then without having seen them prior and leave me feeling confident in answering them myself. His clear explanations and ability to link concepts together has been indispensable and thanks to all his help and support I was able to achieve A*s in both subjects. Thank you very much. Norfolk Tutors has been an excellent resource and I could not recommend it more!
