I am an experienced and passionate Science teacher and tutor, gaining Qualified Teacher Status in 2017. I have a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from Loughborough University and an MA in Education from The Open University. Since 2022, I have confidently tutored students up to Grade 9 level in Triple Sciences and have previously tutored students who have achieved top grades and taken Sciences further on their education journey. I have also helped students to achieve Grades 4, 5 or 6s, that they require for further study.
I have taught AQA and Edexcel exam specifications to Triple Science level in Biology, Chemistry and Physics at two state schools in Norfolk and Suffolk.
My tutoring sessions start with a recap of previous learning, then move on to explaining new content followed by addressing common misconceptions that students often stumble on. I can quickly identify and assist with misconceptions from my seven years of experience as a teacher. After this, we tackle some worked examples and then I coach students through challenging exam questions. Feedback is immediate, comprehensive and thorough, helping students to gain confidence in answering progressively harder questions.
I hold an enhanced DBS check as part of my teaching role and I am on the DBS update service. I deliver a professional and compassionate approach to tutoring and I am experienced in helping students to make progress and improve their confidence in Science.
