I hold a BA Hons. in English Literature from Bristol UWE in 1993, an MA in English Literature (Distinction) from the University of Manchester in 1998, and a PhD from the University of Cambridge awarded in 2004. Subsequently, I was a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow in the Faculty of English at the University of Cambridge, 2008-11, held concurrently with an English teaching Fellowship at Magdalene College.
Teaching I have experience teaching English Literature for the Faculty of English and over half a dozen Cambridge colleges and am happy to . As a college tutor, I have experience teaching and examining undergraduate papers over a long historical period covering a range of literary genres, including poetry and drama from the Renaissance to the Romantic period, as well as the Eighteenth Century. I have successfully supervised small groups, and individual dissertations for the Cambridge English Tripos.
I worked for two years as an admissions interviewer for Magdalene College, Cambridge University; in this capacity, I co-interviewed candidates, read written work and personal statements, and completed assessment forms for each candidate. I would be happy to advise students on university applications, and preparation for Oxbridge interviews. For the last ten years, I have been working as a supply teacher in secondary schools across Norfolk.
I have published two academic books (scholarly editions of letters) and a number of journal articles and chapters.
