Since 2002 I have been teaching Sociology to GCSE, A Level, Access and Higher Education students, and laterly teaching Sociology and Social Sciences to mainly undergraduates. My experience includes supporting students to develop study skills for academic success. This includes reading and note taking strategies as well as essay planning and writing. Effective study skills underpin success and I frequently find that these are at the root of students’ difficulties in terms of achieving their full potential. Particularly in Sociology students also often need help to develop their Sociological Imagination so that they can use the materials appropriately to create convincing arguments. They can also need support in fully understanding what they are expected to do to answer the questions set for assignments and exams. I support Open University students with study skills development, as well as delivering Social Science tutorials to undergraduates.

Carly is able to offer tuition at her own home, or the student’s home (provided that is within a 10 mile radius of Norwich). Carly is also able to offer telephone or Skype and I can use Zoom or in person or WhatsApp support.
