I am a qualified primary teacher with four years of classroom experience and a passion for helping children build confidence and develop a love of learning.
I hold a PGCE and a degree in Engineering Geology from the University of Exeter, giving me a strong academic background, particularly in mathematics and problem-solving. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked across Key Stage 1, Lower Key Stage 2 and Upper Key Stage 2, giving me a broad understanding of different ages, abilities and learning needs. I am familiar with the SATs curriculum and enjoy using past papers and targeted practice to help children consolidate their knowledge and prepare for assessments with confidence.
I particularly enjoy teaching maths, reading and writing and believe children learn best when lessons are enjoyable, engaging and tailored to their individual needs. I use a range of approaches including games, flashcards, visual resources, practical activities and carefully planned questioning to make learning accessible and memorable. My aim is to create a supportive environment where children feel comfortable making mistakes, celebrating progress and developing confidence in their own abilities.
I can offer, Phonics, Reading’, including Read Write Inc. and Little Wandle Phonics, as well as reading paper, SATs revision and homework aid.
